Join our Wednesday night VEX IQ Robotics Club!

  • Wednesdays:  6:30 – 7:30 pm, starting January 10th (9 classes), 3 spots remaining
  • Classes will end March 6th

Classes will start on the date listed above.  Limited to 4 students. Students will progress as a cohort and will build and code their own VEX IQ robot. Includes 1 class of 3D design and 3D printing.

Applied Robotics – VEX IQ

VEX Robotics is well know for building competition level robotics platforms used by elementary schools through to universities.   Their VEX robotics competitions are considered to be the largest in the world with over 2000 competitions held annually with over 20,000 teams.

VEX IQ Program

  • Our VEX IQ program is designed to give students the opportunity to build and code a VEX IQ robot.
  • The January 2024 robot design is the Armbot, which is a large robotic arm equipped with a variety of motors and sensors (LED, Distance, Colour, Touch)
  • Students should be prepared to spend 3-5 classes building their Armbot after which they will progress to coding lessons
  • Students will learn to code the Armbot to execute different maneuvers using the motors and sensors.
  • In one of the later classes students will 3D Design and 3D print a nameplate for their VEX IQ robot
  • No experience is required.
  • The class size will be limited to 4 students
  • Each student will be given their own robotics kit and build and code their own Armbot.
