  • Laser Engraving & Cutting Youth Class

    This program is ideal for students that have an interest in learning about laser engraving & cutting, and, a desire to get hands on creating different projects. We have different Levels for students to progress through.  Level I, designed as an introductory course, includes:
    • Learning the basics of CO2 and RF laser technologies and how engraving and cutting is achieved
    • Learning the fundamentals of Lightburn, the industry-standard laser engraving and cutting software
    • Working on different project each class which includes engraving and cutting
    • Tips and tricks to optimize settings for different materials to improve results
    • Students will be using a Gweike Cloud RF Laser and and Lightburn software

    REGISTRATION

    • Students will run as a cohort with classes starting on New Session starting Monday, January 8th from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.  
    • Enrollment limited to 3 students that are 14 - 15 yrs
    • Each Level is 8 consecutive weekly classes that are 60 minutes each. Includes 1 make-up due to illness or other absence. See conditions HERE.
    • No previous experience required for the Level I class
    • All materials provided and the fees include a materials/software license cost

    Join our Wednesday night VEX IQ Robotics Club!

    Classes will start on the date listed above.  Students will build the VEX IQ Armbot which will take anywhere from 3-5 classes and then learn to control and code their Armbot to execute different challenges.   • 3D Design and 3D Printing for Youth 14 - 15 yrs

    Out of all the technologies available to learn today - 3D printing is at the top of the list.  Why?  3D printing has the power to transform students into creator and makers.  And, these skills will remain valuable throughout their lifetime as 3D printing technology begins to enter the home.

    Our Youth 3D Design and 3D Printing course is designed for older students interested in learning these skills through a project based approach.  Our curriculum contains many different levels that to take students from beginner to advanced.  Each Level consists of 8 classes that are 60 minutes in length, held over 8 consecutive weeks.

    Level I of our program will assist students develop the following skills:

    • Gain basic knowledge of 3D printing technology including how to correctly operate and maintain 3D printers
    • Learn the fundamentals of 3D design through a variety of projects
    • Learn tips and tricks for efficient and effective 3D design and 3D printing
    All technology and materials are supplied.  Registration cost includes materials cost.  Students that continue in the program will progress through more complex projects from intermediate to advanced. We have more 3D printing equipment that any other Studio in the GTA.  We have 14 different 3D printers that range from standard FDM 3D printers through to two 2-colour printers, 4-colour printers and a large format printer.
