Each year, thousands of students across the globe take part in FIRST LEGO League (FLL), an international robotics competition designed to inspire innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving. This season, the spotlight is on the FIRST LEGO League 2025–2026 UNEARTHED Challenge — and it promises to be one of the most exciting yet.

What is FIRST LEGO League (FLL)?

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) introduces students aged 9–14 to real-world engineering challenges through hands-on robotics. Working in teams, students design, build, and program LEGO robots to complete missions on a themed playing field. Beyond robotics, FLL encourages kids to explore innovation, core values, and teamwork, preparing them for a future full of possibilities.

What is FLL Canada?

In Canada, FLL is supported by FIRST Robotics Canada, which helps thousands of students each year participate in regional and national competitions. Teams across Ontario, Quebec, and beyond join forces to take on the challenge, showcase their creativity, and share their innovative solutions. FLL Canada has become a hub for STEM education, giving students opportunities to connect, compete, and grow.

The 2025–2026 Theme: UNEARTHED

This year’s challenge is called UNEARTHED. Students will explore archaeology and the hidden stories beneath our feet. From ancient artifacts to historical discoveries, teams are challenged to think about how we understand the past — and how technology can help us uncover new insights.

Robotics missions on the FLL mat will reflect this theme, giving students the chance to design attachments, program sensors, and build robots that solve unique archaeological challenges. The project component of the challenge also encourages students to identify a real-world problem in archaeology and propose an innovative solution.

Our Programs: FLL Competitive Team & Weekly FLL Club in Markham

At Envision Robotics, we are proud to offer students in Markham and the GTA two exciting ways to experience the FLL Challenge:

  1. FLL Competitive Team – Markham
    Students join our dedicated FLL Competitive Team to train weekly and prepare for official FLL Challenge competitions in Ontario. With experienced coaches guiding them, team members commit to the full season and participate in qualifiers.
  2. Weekly FLL Club – Markham
    Perfect for kids who want to experience FLL without the full competitive commitment. Our weekly FLL Club allows students to build and code LEGO® robots, work with the official FLL Challenge mat, and explore real-world problem-solving in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Both options immerse students in the 2025–2026 FLL UNEARTHED Challenge, building STEM knowledge, teamwork, and confidence.

How can we help?

Camp Policies

IMPORTANT:
  • We do not offer refunds for camps or programs so please be absolutely sure you can attend the date (s) you booked – otherwise we recommend not booking.
Emergency Situations
  • In the event your child is severely injured (e.g., broken limb) or a family emergency (e.g., funeral) prior to starting a camp or program a credit may be issued and/or the start date shifted
  • A credit may be issued for the value of the unused portion
  • Any credit issued under the above circumstances will expire after 12 months
Schedule Conflicts:
  • We expect parents to attend the camps and programs that they book – otherwise we recommend not booking until you know can attend
  • Camps – in the event you have a conflict with your camp we offer the following:
  • If a camp date is available for an earlier week we may be able to shift your child to that week
  • We can’t shift camps to weeks later in the summer season
  • We allow parents to find other families to take their camp spots (but the economics of that will need to be worked out between the families)
  • We work very hard to ensure a fair and equitable solution for all
  • Our philosophy is simple "what we do for one we need to be able to do for all"

Weekly Class Policies

IMPORTANT:
  • We do not offer refunds for classes so please be absolutely sure you can attend the date (s) you booked – otherwise we recommend not booking.
Make-Up Policy
  • Since we schedule and set up workstations in advance, we ask that you give us prior notice if you’re unable to attend your class.
  • Please provide 24 hours’ notice if you cannot attend your class. For illness, same-day notice is required before the start of class.
  • Students may use one make-up class per Level (8 classes) when advance notice is given. Without notice, the absence will be considered a ‘no-show’ and the make-up opportunity will be lost. Thanks for your understanding!
  • You must book your make-up class within your 8 week period. We can arrange a make-up for you anytime we are open as long as their is availability in the timeslot.
  • We are unable to provide refunds or credits for missed classes or absences.
  • As a small business, managing missed classes and schedule changes can be challenging. We appreciate your support in following our policies and thank you for your understanding.
